We are on a mission to help animals find loving homes like ours and inspire children to be themselves!
How are we doing this? Well, we just wrote a book (OK, we had a little help). Proceeds go to great non-profit organizations and if there is any left over, it will go to our feed and care (we’ll try not to eat too much).
The Adventures of Pumpkin and Cookie: Cookie Doesn’t Want to Be a Goat is about Cookie’s quest to be somebody else, other than a goat. She is worried people think goats aren’t very smart and they just eat everything.
Cookie decides she wants to be a frog, bunny, butterfly or horse. Pumpkin stays strong in her belief she is happy to be a goat, until Cookie thinks of becoming a puppy. Oh no! Everyone LOVES puppies and they get to live in the house and take rides in the car! That would be amazing to be a puppy!
But Pumpkin stands tall and declares her proclamation to be herself and be the best Pumpkin she can be! Cookie suddenly gets it and they both tell kids, “There’s only one you and only one me. So, let’s be the best us, the best we can be!”
The book comes with a bonus page of QR Codes that will take children directly to videos of Real-Life Journeys with Pumpkin and Cookie. 36 pages. Full color. For children of all ages (even big kids at heart).

♥♥♥♥♥ Great message and gorgeous graphics – a book loved by kids AND adults
By Kris Harty on April 27, 2014. All of us – kid or adult – have, at one point or anther, not wanted to be who we are. Sherri Connell’s first children’s book addresses the topic with understanding, clarity, heart, warmth and wit. Sherri is not only a long-time artist but also an excellent writer. She has an ear for how kids (and animals!) might think, talk, and reason. Her graphics are unique and unmistakable. Based on photos of she and husband Wayne’s own goats, the pictures in this book are a treasure in themselves. Sherri uses her own unique artistic graphic overlay to create beautiful and captivating images that will charm adults and kids. This may be a children’s book, but I know plenty of adults who may need a reminder – simply, eloquently and gently told – of how and why their lives and their roles in those lives are exactly as they’re supposed to be. Get this book for the kids in your life who you love – just because – and an extra copy for yourself.
♥♥♥♥♥ A message we should never forget!! God Bless our children!
By Ronald G Mitchell on May 18, 2014. I purchased five of The Adventures of Pumpkin and Cookie by Sherri Connell. I gave them to my great grand children. I wasn’t sure about the reaction to the story, but I am very pleased that the parents of these children all were very pleased and happy with the story, the graphics and especially the chance to see these goats by clicking on the web site at the end of the book. Here the children can see the goats in action. I am a retired teacher and I recommend the book, it’s message and the videos to reinforce the idea that these are real goats. You will be reading this book over and over by request. We are special and we need to convey that to our children.

♥♥♥♥♥ Great Message, interesting and well illustrated.
By mnichols62 on May 12, 2014. My grandchildren (ages 5 and 7) and I really enjoyed this book. They stayed interested to the end and wanted to read it again. The illustrations are colorful and well done. The message is clear and part of what I want them to learn, that who they are is important and they don’t need to be anyone else.
♥♥♥♥♥ Grand-daughter loves Pumpkin and Cookie.
By Judy Sutherland on May 13, 2014. I have shown my 7 year old grand-daughter video’s of Pumpkin and Cookie from their Facebook page. We both would laugh at the things they do. When their book came out I ordered, I knew she would love it! When she came over I said look what I got! She seen the cover an exclaimed, Pumpkin and Cookie! We sat and read the book together and enjoyed their story. A nice surprise in the book are 9 video’s you can scan and watch. We also met Snickers the family dog. The added video’s brought life to the book characters as real loving and fun animals. Czarina smiled and gave many “awes” through the book. I loved enjoying with her and seeing her reactions. A great book enjoy together with children.
♥♥♥♥♥ Delightful!
CPBAHenderson on May 24, 2014. Such a colorful book and a joy to read. I’ve met the “characters” of this book in person and can see their personalities shine through the story and illustrations. My favorite illustrations are two with robustly colorful flowers in the foreground. I can’t wait to share this with my friend who is an elementary reading specialist. I know she will love it and want to share it with her students. Thanks Pumpkin and Cookie for giving so much joy, life and positive messages to us! Oh, and thanks to the author for her detailed, devoted work bringing their story and message to life!

♥♥♥♥♥ I love Pumpkin, Cookie and Snickers!
Seven year old Czarina’s grandma had been showing her videos of us (Pumpkin and Cookie) when she came to visit. When our book, The Adventures of Pumpkin and Cookie became available, Grandma ordered it! Czarina came for a visit this weekend and was so thrilled, she wanted to say, thank you!
Grandma said, “When she came over I said, ‘Remember the videos of the goats? They now have a book!’ She said, ‘You mean Pumpkin and Cookie?’ Too cute! She loved it! She loved all the clips especially Snickers and the celery. Wish I could of taped her smiles watching the videos and all the ‘Awww’s!”
